In the current context, characterized as a challenging period in terms of European Union’s unity, direction and future, international migration and European security nexus is becoming increasingly relevant from a ge-opolitical perspective. In a period marked by heightened volatility and sys-temic rivalries among neighboring states, the European Union has begun to face an escalation of migration-related challenges and, consequently, inse-curity, against the backdrop of the tense and precarious situations in Northern Africa and Gaza. Armed conflicts, state fragility and international tensions have led to an alarming increase in the number of refugees, forced to move in search of safety and security, reaching a record number in 2023. |
