THE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN ROMANIA AND THE USA. HISTORY AND GEOPOLITICAL IMPORTANCE

The author’s Ph.D. thesis - and the present book which is the end result of the doctoral research - has the essential merit of presenting the full complexity of the historical moment. As a matter of fact, this is far from being the only merit of this book which stands out by both the extraordinary documentation efforts of the author, and the critical acumen, accuracy and balanced views of the conclusions presented. These qualities were especially important in a research concerning very recent history were information sources consisted more than usually in oral accounts, memoirs – fatally more subjective than rather types of materials – and where the author’s points of view risked gaining precedence over the rules of historical research.
