LIVING IN TRUTH : A CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK FOR A WISDOM SOCIETY AND THE EUROPEAN CONSTRUCTION

The present volume collects a selection of the proceedings of the conference entitled “Living in Truth – A Conceptual Framework for a Wisdom Society and the European Construction” which took place in Cluj Napoca between 9-12 September 2007. The organizing of this conference was a joint initiative bringing together Babeş-Bolyai University, UNESCO-CEPES and DAAD. The conference included both plenary and panel sessions grouped under various topics such as “Knowledge and Religious Faith Today”, “The Reasons and Need for a Set of Firm Values”, “Place of Values in the European Construction”, “The Role of Values in Inter-Religious Dialogue” (for the plenary sessions), and “Place of Religion and God in Present-Day Life and Culture”, “Democracy and Sources of Motivation”, “Science and Religion Today – Cohabitation or Conflict”, “Spiritual Values in a Globalized World” (for the panel sessions) which formed the bases for the sections of the present volume.
