Cluj University Press's main activity is publishing the University's books and periodicals, as well as conducting other specific projects for the benefit of the institution. From the beginning, Cluj University Press has targeted teachers, students, and the scientific community who ensure, through their work, the reputation of academic research both nationally and worldwide. Currently, Cluj University Press publishes works in both print and electronic formats.

In a university city like Cluj-Napoca, the most requested books are university textbooks, ranging from historiography, the study of ideologies, mentalities, and the imaginary, to ancient, medieval, and modern history. Our publications also cover Orthodox and Catholic theology, sociology, psychology, pedagogy, geography, foreign languages, mathematics, computer science, and more. A large number of general interest books are also addressed to the wider public. The current graphic quality of the works published by Cluj University Press is very high, and the publishing policy is to secure funding—public or private—so that the selling price remains as affordable as possible.

Cluj University Press develops important projects with:

• The Apáczai Foundation and the Cluj Hungarian University Foundation;
• The National Authority for Scientific Research;
• The Administration of the National Cultural Fund;
• Co-financed projects by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture;
• Co-editing collaborations with UNESCO and the Max Weber Foundation.

Cluj University Press has no separate legal personality and operates on a self-financing basis.
